6 MONTHS OF PERSONAL GUIDANCE, REGULAR FEED BACK AND ASSISTANCE
Teaching yoga is a lifelong learning journey! Whether you’ve recently completed your YTT and are building your skills and confidence as you begin your teaching career, or have been teaching for a while and are looking for feedback and advice as you refine your approach or consider new opportunities, working with an experienced senior teacher offers so many benefits. BYDC is launching a mentoring and coaching program for trained yoga teachers. Our 6-month packages can be customized to fit your priorities and needs. Working with a BYDC teacher of your choice, you’ll have the opportunity to develop a personal practice that sustains your teaching; learn new skills in sequencing, assists and more; and discuss your goals and how to reach them. Through one-on-one sessions and conversations with your mentor, you’ll identify your strengths and the areas where you need to grow, both on and off the mat. This program is open to all graduates of a 200 hr YTT course -- it’s not necessary to have completed your training at BYDC.
The mentoring package includes
Assisting practice and feedback: Assist during your mentor’s classes, and receive feedback afterward. Ten sessions
Sequencing advice: Share four class sequencing plans with your mentor and receive feedback within one week (in person, on the phone, or via e-mail).
Lifestyle coaching/planning meeting: In a 90-minute one-on-one session, discuss one or more challenges you’re experiencing in your teaching, or personal implementation of living yoga principles, and receive advice from your mentor. One session.
Private asana session: Meet with your mentor for 90 minutes to work on an issue of your choice, from working with private clients to teaching certain asanas. One session
Teaching feedback: Have your mentor take a class taught by you and receive feedback and advice to help strengthen your directions, sequencing, assists and/or presence. (This will be within the DC region only, unless negotiated with mentor.) One session.
