foundational PRINCIPLES OF yoga AND breath
Principles that guide basic alignment, Pranayama (breathwork) and anatomy. January 4th, 5th, 6th.
We are opening the first weekend of our 2019 200 hour yoga teacher training course as an immersion experience for those who want to bring their personal practice to the next level. Learning the foundational principles of breath, movement and anatomy will allow an individual to self-correct any posture, move with fluid power and lightness and connect to the energy of a pose. Yoga is more than just a set of poses or way to achieve physical fitness, it encompasses one's ability to utilize the correct tools to harness inner strength and structural integration and access awareness of the self.
This first weekend of our teacher training program sets an empowering foundation. It is also an opportunity to get a taste of the unique BYDC approach to teacher training, for those considering it for the future but unable to complete the full course at this time.
Topics addressed during this immersion include:
In-depth study of the anatomy of the spine
Yoga breathing and how breath stimulates and creates space in the spine
Accessing the autonomic nervous system (ANS) using the breath, creating an energizing or calming effect
