Studio Policies (updated as of October 1, 2026)
Our studio policies help us maintain a welcoming, safe, and respectful space for everyone. Please review them before visiting Bhakti Yoga DC.
Studio Etiquette & Safety
Arriving for Class
Please register in advance and arrive 5–10 minutes before class. First-time visitors should allow a few extra minutes to check in and settle in.
Everyone must have their own BYDC account and a signed waiver before participating.
Remove your shoes upon entering and leave them in the designated lobby area.
Waiver and Release
Everyone participating in a BYDC class, workshop, event, private session, or other offering must sign our Waiver and Release Agreement before participating. This requirement applies to all students and guests. A parent or legal guardian must sign on behalf of a minor.

Late Arrivals
Please arrive before the scheduled start time. We allow a grace period of up to 10 minutes, but we can’t guarantee entry if you arrive late.
If class has already begun, please wait quietly outside rather than entering the practice room. The teacher may invite you in at an appropriate moment or refuse entry at their discretion, particularly when the class has begun with meditation, grounding, or another activity that would be disrupted.
Students arriving more than 10 minutes late will not be admitted. If a class is full, we may release unclaimed reservations to waitlisted students when class begins.
These guidelines respect those who arrived on time and help preserve the shared experience of the class, just as we ask students not to leave during Savasana.
Leaving Class Early
If you need to leave before class ends, tell the teacher beforehand, place your mat near the exit, and depart before Savasana begins. This helps preserve a quiet and restful closing experience for everyone.
Mats, Props, and Studio Care
You may bring your own mat or borrow one from the studio at no charge. Please wipe down borrowed mats and props after class and return everything neatly to its designated place.
Help us leave the studio ready for the next community gathering.
Phones and Personal Belongings
Please silence your phone when you arrive. If you must keep it nearby because you are on call or responsible for someone’s care, let the teacher know and step outside the practice room to use it.
Store belongings in the designated cubbies. You may bring small valuables into the practice room if you keep them securely beside your mat without obstructing the space.
The upstairs studio door will be locked once class begins if no one is at the Front Desk. Bhakti Yoga DC is not responsible for lost, stolen, or damaged belongings.
Health and Safety
Please do not attend the studio if you are experiencing symptoms of a contagious illness or believe you may place others at risk.
Tell the teacher before class about any injury, pregnancy, health condition, or limitation that may affect your practice. Teachers may offer adaptations, but each student remains responsible for choosing whether and how to participate.
Yoga and wellness services are not substitutes for medical or psychological care.
Community Conduct
We ask everyone to help maintain an environment grounded in dignity, inclusion, safety, and mutual respect.
Harassment, discrimination, threatening conduct, inappropriate behavior, or actions that interfere with another person’s safety or experience are not permitted. BYDC may refuse or discontinue participation of an individual or individuals when necessary to protect the community.
Reservations & Cancellations
Schedule Changes
Class schedules, teachers, and formats may change. Please consult our online schedule or the Achieve Client App for the most current information:
Keep your email address and mobile number current and enable account notifications so you receive schedule and reservation updates.
Class Cancellations and No-Shows
If you cannot attend a class, cancel your reservation at least six hours before class begins through the Achieve Client App or your online booking account.
Cancellations made within six hours of class are considered late cancellations. Reservations not canceled before class begins are considered no-shows.
Students using drop-ins or class packs will forfeit the class.
Members with 4x or 8x memberships will forfeit the class credit.
We understand that genuine emergencies happen. Contact us if special circumstances require consideration, preferably before class begins so your place can become available to someone else.
Waitlists
Joining a waitlist means that you intend to attend if a space opens. When one becomes available, the system automatically adds the next person and sends a notification by email or text.
Once added, your reservation is subject to our cancellation and no-show policies. Please remove yourself from the waitlist if you can no longer attend or would not have enough time to reach the studio on short notice.
Workshops and Special Events
Workshop and special-event purchases may be credited to your BYDC account when canceled at least 24 hours before the scheduled start time. Cancellations received within 24 hours are not eligible for credit unless otherwise stated for the event.
Private Sessions and Appointments
Private yoga sessions, bodywork appointments, and other individual appointments require at least 24 hours’ notice to cancel or reschedule. Cancellations within 24 hours and missed appointments may be charged in full.
Memberships & Passes
Membership Policies
Memberships require a valid credit or debit card on file and are governed by the BYDC Studio Membership Agreement.
Important terms include:
Membership access applies to regularly scheduled classes. Workshops, series, teacher trainings, private sessions, and special events require separate registration and payment.
After an initial 3- or 12-month term, the membership continues month-to-month unless canceled according to the Membership Agreement.
Members may move between the 4x, 8x, and Unlimited tiers without restarting their existing commitment term.
Credits included with 4x and 8x memberships expire at the end of each monthly billing cycle and do not roll over.
Memberships may be frozen in 30-day increments for up to three months per calendar year. Requests must be submitted at least seven days before the next billing date.
Ending a membership before the completion of its initial term may require a buyout fee as described in the Membership Agreement.
Membership changes, freezes, and cancellations must be requested by emailing info@bhaktiyogadc.com and are effective only after BYDC confirms receipt.
Memberships and passes belong to the person named on the account and may not be shared.
First-Time Guest Benefit
Active members may bring any number of guests who have never previously attended BYDC in any capacity. Each eligible guest may receive one complimentary regularly scheduled class and must attend with the member.
Guests must register in advance using their own BYDC account and sign the studio waiver. This benefit excludes previous members and passholders, Intro Offer users, drop-in students, ClassPass visitors, workshops, series, teacher trainings, private sessions, and other separately priced offerings.
Intro Offer
The Intro Offer is available once to individuals who are new to BYDC. It provides 14 consecutive days of access beginning with the first class attended.
The Intro Offer is non-transferable and may not be paused or extended except at BYDC’s discretion.
Purchases & Accounts
Refunds, Transfers, and Expiration
All sales are final. Memberships, drop-ins, class packs, workshops, events, trainings, and other purchases are non-refundable and non-transferable unless otherwise stated or required by law.
The 10-Class Pack expires one year from the purchase date. Other passes and purchases are subject to the expiration date shown at checkout and in the client’s account.
BYDC does not extend purchases because of non-use, travel, or scheduling conflicts, although documented emergencies may be considered individually.
Account Balances
Outstanding balances—including failed payments and cancellation or no-show fees—must be resolved promptly. BYDC may temporarily suspend booking and membership privileges until the account is brought current.
